The Lenta valley
On the orographic tirht of the Po river is the side-valley of Lenta stream, the first important Po tributary. The valley is wild and steep in its lower part, where rock outcrops alternate with thick beech-woods. Beyond Oncino the upper part of the valley widens out with its broad grasslands exploited as summer pasture, and then extends upwards to the impervious faces of the massif of Monviso. Many hamlets still retain valuable examples of alpine architecture and traces of popular religiousness.
